Indication:
Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) refers to any of a group of symptoms attributed to the obstruction of the coronary arteries. Presentation may include, but not be limited to:
- Chest pain or pressure
- Radiation of chest pain to the left arm and/or left angle of the jaw
- Diaphoresis
- Dyspnea
- Nausea and/or vomiting
Precaution:
- Scene Safety
Procedure:
- Airway
- Breathing
- Circulation
- Oxygen – high flow
- Position of comfort
- May assist patient in taking his or her own medications if indicated
- Vascular access
- Medications
- Aspirin 324mg (PO)
- Nitroglycerin 0.4mg (SL) q 3-5 minutes if systolic pressure is > 90mmHg
- Fentanyl 1-2mcg/kg IV, IN, IM, IO with a max single dose of 100mcg
- Treat underlying dysrhythmias accordingly
